Defining A Space
Here is my first Med160 project, as well as my very first attempt in film(yay!) . For this project, we were asked to take a space around Hunter College and define it through mood, lighting, setting, and camerawork. My partner and I decided to choose the Jack Posner Park, outside the East building of Hunter. I have always found the statues to be strangely eerie, so I decided to define the space through action, lighting and the use of those statues as a focal point. In this video, I used a fuzzy exposure and a greenish, almost unhealthy looking exposure in order to set the mood. Throughout the video, the statues seem to be looking down upon the murder/robbery scene almost forebodingly, as if they are watching and remembering. The music I chose was Bernard Hermann's Psycho, in order to set the tone and pace of the clip.
